More than just a garden walk…

A visit to Indian Botanic Garden in Kolkata or Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden as it is known now turned out to be a lot more that just a walk in the garden. For those of you who want to know how and why, and want to know more about the 250 year old Great Banyan Tree (Listed in the Guiness World Book of Records) at this historical place, you can read about it in my writeup here; http://indiasendangered.com/a-floral-paradise-kolkatas-indian-botanic-garden

And for those who prefer visuals, I am sharing the pictures here…

  1. I’ve been looking through your blog – it’s wonderful! Your write-ups are so informative, and your photos are amazing!! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. 🙂

  2. These are wonderful and I can sense the atmosphere and that wonderful heavy scent of the air. The medicinal plant looks like one that grows in my Netherlands garden but without the exotic umbrella seed pods. Maybe it is the same family but the climate is not warm enough to produce these seeds. Do you know what it is used for and what it is called?
